Edmund Telgenkämper

Edmund Telgenkämper was born in Gladbeck and studied drama at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media from 1989 to 1993. After an initial guest appearance at Theater Basel, he was a member of the ensemble at Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg from 1993 until 1998. After another two-year long guest appearance at Theater Basel, Edmund joined Burgtheater Wien in 2000 as a permanent member of the ensemble. He then made a guest appearance at the Salzburger Festspielen in 2002 and returned to Theater Basel as a permanent member of the ensemble in 2003. He was a member of the ensemble at the Münchner Kammerspiele from 2006 until 2015, working with the likes of Susanne Kennedy, Tian Gebing, Matthias Günther, Andreas Kriegenburg, Armin Petras and Johan Simons. Up until 2019, Edmund was a member of the ensemble at Schauspielhaus Zurich where he worked with Barbara Frey, Stephan Kimmig, Bastian Kraft, Stephan Müller, Stefan Pucher and Zino Wey. He also made a guest appearance at Schauspielhaus Bochum where he worked with Malte Jelden, while a 2019 guest appearance at the Bayerische Staatsoper saw him work with Kevin Barz. Since 2020, Edmund is once again a member of the ensemble at the Münchner Kammerspiele.
