Martin Weigel

Martin Weigel was born in 1983 and a grew up in Bavaria. He completed his drama studies at the State University of Music and the Performing Arts Stuttgart. From 2008 to 2017, he was a permanent member of the ensemble at Theater Freiburg. For his role as Franz Biberkopf in Berlin Alexanderplatz (directed by Thomas Krupa) he was nominated as Best Young Actor 2008/2009 by Theater heute. In 2014, together with Jens Dreske and Tom Schneider, he developed the live film series Welcome To Blackwood Hills. From 2017 to 2018, he was a permanent member of the ensemble at Schauspielhaus Bochum and from 2018 until 2020 he was a member of the theatre ensemble at the Nationaltheater Mannheim. Martin has been a member of the ensemble at the Münchner Kammerspiele since 2020.
