Mehdi Moradpour

Mehdi Moradpour is an author, court and community interpreter and translator for Persian (Farsi & Dari) and Spanish. After studying technology in Iran, he studied Hispanic Studies, Computer Science, Sociology, American Studies and Arabic Studies in Leipzig and Havana from 2004 and Scenic Writing in Graz from 2014. During this time, he worked in various roles in independent theater groups and wrote journalistic articles about culture and theater. His texts have won several awards and been translated. Collaborations with Deutsche Oper Berlin, Maxim Gorki Theater, Theater Konstanz, Schauspielhaus Wien, Wiener Festwochen, Grips Theater and Theater Bremen, among others. From the 2020/21 to 2022/23 season, he was part of the artistic management team of the Kammerspiele as a dramaturge.
Mehdi Moradpour has been dramaturge at Schauspielhaus Bochum since the 2023/2024 season. In 2023, his book “ein körper ohne ort” was published in the Suhrkamp Theater series.
