Walter Hess

Walter Hess was born in 1939 in Lucerne and was first employed at the Stadttheater Konstanz from 1963 until 1968. He then set himself up as a freelance actor and made guest appearances at establishments such as Theater Basel and Schauspielhaus Zurich. Between 1972 and 1980, he worked at the Theater an der Winkelwiese in Zurich and remained with the theatre as a freelance actor after his permanent contract ended. He also made guest appearances at various other theatres including the Luzerner Theater. In 1987, Walter began working at Schauspiel Bonn and then moved to the Staatstheater Hannover in 1997. From 2000 until 2002, he worked at Schauspielhaus Zurich and has since been a member of the ensemble at the Münchner Kammerspiele.
