Anna Akkash

Anna Akkash is a Syrian artist. She has BA in English literature - Damascus University / BA in Dramatic Studies - The Higher Institute for Dramatic Arts in Damascus / MA in Cultural Sciences, Major in Theater and Performing Arts, Tunisia. She is the founder and artistic director of Miraya Drama Troupe – 2017 in Damascus/ Syria. She worked as a teacher at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus. She also worked at the National Theater as a dramaturg, editor, and author for many Theater plays. She also worked there as an assistant director. Since 2013 she has been working as an independent theater director. Winner of several awards for playwriting. She worked as scriptwriter for a number of short films and Syrian television works, she also participated in writing the radio series “Hay al-Matar” produced by Battuta Company and BBC Media Action, in addition to her work as a drama consultant in several Syrian films. She works in translation from English and Russian. In addition, she did a lot of studies and researches in theater, the most important of which are “The History of Fashion” and “The Historical Origins of the Origin of Monodrama”.
