Sasha Marianna Salzmann

Sasha Marianna Salzmann is a playwright, essayist, and dramaturge. Salzmann’s plays, which are performed internationally, have been awarded various prizes, most recently the Kunstpreis Berlin 2020. Salzmann’s debut novel “Außer sich” was awarded the Jürgen Ponto Foundation Literature Prize and the Mara Cassens Prize in 2017 and was shortlisted for the German Book Prize. It has been translated into sixteen languages. Salzmann’s second novel, “Im Menschen muss alles herrlich sein” (2021), was also nominated for the German Book Prize and received the 2022 Literature Houses Prize and the 2022 Hermann Hesse Prize.
