Dara Lalo came to Germany from Rojava/Syria in December 2016 and began his acting studies at the OFS in 2020. His acting journey began in elementary school, initially in the theater of the cultural center of the city of Afrîn. He later joined an independent theater group in Aleppo. In Germany, he was part of the theater group “Morgen wird schöner” with Eugen Georg, and they performed together in Saarbrücken, Luxembourg and Schleswig-Holstein. Dara Lalo has taken part in several film projects, including “Killing Bagheera” by Moshref Sheikh Zeyn. He received the special mention for best leading actor at SPICYIFF23 and was nominated for the best leading actor award at the Watersprite Film Festival in Cambridge. The film was presented as part of German Films at the Cannes Film Festival. In the film “+963” by Daood Abdullah, he was awarded Best Leading Actor at the Underdog Festival in Wolfsburg.
