Paula Schlagbauer

Paula Schlagbauer has a B.A. in Stage Design from the University of the Arts and is currently in her third year of directing at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich. She designs and realises stage sets and costumes for the independent theatre scene in Leipzig, Berlin and Munich. During her first degree in theatre studies in Leipzig, she worked as an intern at Berlin theatres. In spring 2020, she realised a performance at the Deutsches Theater Berlin as part of the Unart Festival. Paula also publishes texts in literary magazines (Literarische Blätter, DRAMA Magazin, etc.). In the 20/21 season, her first theatre play premiered at the Cammerspiele Leipzig, and she was invited to the 35th Treffen junger AutorInnen and the Nahaufnahme of the International Berlin Literary Festival with the text for Chickenfilet. She is a fellow of the 21st International Schiller Festival at the NT Mannheim. With her collective Grizzly and Leo Productions, she was Artist in Residence at the Goethe Institute Thessaloniki in 2022 and has been realising projects in Leipzig since 2021.
In July 2023, she staged the play “Metzger in Masken” at the Volkstheater Munich.
