Amon Ritz

Amon Ritz, born in Munich in 1998, studied mathematics and computational linguistics at the LMU Munich for a short time after graduating from high school and since 2020 has studied media arts with a focus on exMedia at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne.
Together with the collective zugdirekt, Amon works on free, interdisciplinary projects with which they have won numerous young artists’ prizes.
Ritz has assisted video artists such as Benjamin Krieg, Mikko Gaestel, Susanne Steinmassl, Ute Schall and Meika Dresenkamp in numerous productions.
In the 2019/20 season, Amon was permanently engaged at the Münchner Kammerspiele, in particular for the technical and artistic design of the projects in the urban space and the digital offerings of KAMMER 4. For the Theater Oberhausen, the Goethe-Institut, the Kunstsammlung NRW, the Spielart theatre festival and the Künstlerhaus Mousonturm, Ritz took on the video-technical conception and supervision of event series and productions.
As a cameraman and video artist*, Amon works for theatre productions with directors such as Damian Rebgetz, Jonny Bix Bongers, René Pollesch, Stas Zhyrkov, Martín Valdés-Stauber, Robert Gerloff, Julian Warner, Peter Kastenmüller and Miriam Ibrahim at various theatres.
In his own work, Ritz deals with phenomena of perception, neurodiversity and systems of image synthesis.
