Nora Haakh

Nora Haakh is a cultural scientist and researching artist between performing and visual arts. She works as a dramaturge, lecturer, graphic recorder and performer. 
During her studies of Islamic Studies, Political Science and History in Berlin with stays in Paris, Istanbul and Cairo, Nora Haakh worked as a dramaturg and director’s assistant (for Yael Ronen and Jens Hillje, among others), surtitler and production manager. Between 2012 and 2015 she worked as a dramaturge at the post-migrant theatre Ballhaus Naunynstraße, since then freelancing in the field of theatre, performance, dance, film, among others in long-term collaborations with writer/director Nora Abdel-Maksoud, with the dance company Grupo Oito, with the interdisciplinary artist Ilker Abay and in the management team of the art/social laboratory AUCH. In 2021 she published her first monograph “The Islam Debate in Postmigrant Theatre”, in the same year her doctoral thesis “Layla and Majnun in the Contact Zone” was awarded a special prize for culture by the Augsburg Science Prize for Intercultural Studies.
