Participants wanted for new project in public space on the topics of "Farewell" and "Dying".
Under the title ARS MORIENDI, the Münchner Kammerspiele is developing a new project in public space on the topics of “farewell” and “dying”. They are now looking for participants from Munich who are dealing with the end of their own lives due to old age or terminal illness.
What will happen?
With the help of modern technology, the participants’ bodies will be
are brought into the city as virtual figures. These figures are invisible, but can be made visible using the smartphone’s camera function. A personal message from each person can be heard over the phone’s loudspeaker.
The virtual figures look amazingly lifelike. You get the feeling that they are present and absent at the same time. The aim of the art project is not to accept the farewell to life as a purely impotent experience, but to shape it personally. Beyond death.
Preparations begin immediately. The project will be published at the start of the new season in October 2024, after which it will be accessible for several years.
How does that work? What do the participants have to do?
