You can see a conductor holding a baton in his right hand and gesticulating with his other hand. Musicians can be seen in the background.

Last year’s Jewish Jazz concert was quickly sold out and showed that jazz is still music for everyone: Jazz is still music for everyone today!

JEWISH
Jews and jazz? Numerous Jewish musicians were involved in the early success of jazz: Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw and George Gershwin are probably the most prominent names. Even classical composers could not escape the new musical style in the 1920s and 1930s, e.g. Darius Milhaud or Dimitri Shostakovich, who was even a member of the official ‘Soviet Jazz Commission’.

TODAY
Listen to Gershwin songs like never before: Kammerspiel actress Jelena Kuljić, front woman of the band KUU! and ensemble member of the Münchner Kammerspiele, brings classic songs and evergreens by George Gershwin into the present day together with the JCOM.
