Anton Berman

Anton Berman, born in Moscow in 1983, received his first piano and composition lessons in Russia, where he wrote several of his own compositions for children’s and youth theatre projects of the Roland Bikov Group at a young age. Since 2000 he has composed stage music for the Schaubühne Berlin, the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, the National Theater Mannheim, the Schauspielhaus Graz, the Schauspielhaus Bochum, Théâtre National Wallonie-Bruxelles,the Schauspielhaus Hannover and the Maxim Gorki Theater, among others. From 2005 to 2008 Anton Berman was permanently engaged as a drama composer at the Aachen Theatre. He plays in the trio IGRA, in the electro-dance band Baba Dunyah and in the polka cabaret band MC NATASHA & FRIENDS and is active as an improvisation and performance musician in various projects. He is also the founder and director of the International School of Bikeballet and Ballet Design Istanbul. He recently worked with Jan-Christoph Gockel at the Staatstheater Mainz, the Théâtre National Wallonie-Bruxelles and the Staatstheater Dresden. He has appeared as a live musician and performer in plays such as “Schinderhannes”, “I, Pinocchio”, A Journey into the Heart of the Machine”, “Master and Margarita”, “Frankenstein”, “Der Untertan” and “Woyzeck”.
