Anne Sophie Kapsner

Anne Sophie Kapsner studied Theatre Studies and Language, Literature, Culture at the LMU Munich and in Stockholm as well as Theatre Direction at the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt a.M.

From 2020 to 2022 Anne Sophie Kapsner worked as an assistant director at the Münchner Kammerspiele, among others with Falk Richter and Jan-Christoph Gockel. She appeared on stage in Heldenplatz (director: Falk Richter). In June 2021 she realised her own production Alles Gold, nichts glänzt - freely adapted from Platonov by Anton Chekhov. She also set up the staged reading of In The Name Of by Allex.(Liat) Fassberg as part of the Long Night of New Drama 2021.

Her works have been shown at the Frankfurt LAB, studioNAXOS Frankfurt, Mousonturm Frankfurt, Theater HochX Munich, Dschungel Vienna, Pathos Theater Munich as well as at the Staatstheater Mainz. She regularly receives grants from the Fonds Darstellende Künste. In the summer of 2023 she will be a lecturer at the Mozarteum Salzburg for the first time. Anne Sophie Kapsner is part of the European performing arts network Future Laboratory.

In July 2023, Anne Sophie Kapsner will stage several one-act plays and opera fragments for the “Neue Zeit, neue Dramatik” festival at the Münchner Kammerspiele, which were created as part of the PLAYLIST writers’ workshop in cooperation with the LMU, the HMT Münchner, the August Everding Theatre Academy and the Bavarian State Opera.
