Annika Henderson

Born in 1987 in Surrey, UK, Annika Henderson is a hybrid artist. The former journalist has made a name for herself in the electronic music scene with her experimental sound collages. In 2010, Portishead’s Geoff Barrow and his band Beak> produced her breakthrough debut album ‘Anika’ (Invada / Stones Throw). It found great resonance and not only prominent fans: since then she has been a sought-after collaborator and has worked with artists* such as Jim Jarmusch, Tricky, performance artist Melanie Jame Wolf, fashion houses Jil Sander and Chanel, with producer Shackleton, soloist ensemble Kaleidoscope (‘Desertshore’), director Rainer Kohlberger (‘It Has To Be Lived Once And Dreamed Twice’. 2019), Gudrun Gut, Philipp Geist (live soundtrack for a light installation in Tehran, IR. 2015), as well as collaborated with programmer Raoul Sanders/A.I (The Writing Robot. 2017), T.Raumschmiere and Michael Rother (Neu!). In 2014, she formed a new band in Mexico City, Exploded View. Henderson appears as a musician, poet, and filmmaker. A full eleven years after the release of her debut, Anika has released her second solo album ‘Change’ (Sacred Bones / Invada). It was nominated for Best Album at the 2022 VIA Awards. In June 2023 Anika released a live LP ‘Eat Liquid’, recorded at Berlin’s Zeiss-Großplanetarium.
