Anna Bauer

Born in Hamburg, Germany in 1985, Anna Bauer is a composer, singer and musician. She completed the pop music course at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre (HfMT) and, in 2018, graduated with a master’s degree in film music composition from the UK’s National Film and Television School. Her collaborations with Antu Romero Nunes, Armin Petras, Johanna Witt and Philipp Becker have taken her to theatres including the Thalia Theater in Hamburg, Schauspielhaus Zurich, Schauspielhaus Bochum, Theater Basel and Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf. She writes and composes music for plays as well as songs and performs as a stage musician. She has composed music for films that have screened at the Annecy Film Festival, Sheffield Doc Fest, New York Jewish Film Festival, Edinburgh International Film Festival and the London Short Film Festival. In 2020, her score for the animated film “Home” (directed by Anita Bruvere) won Best Original Music Award at Annecy. Anna Bauer has created further film and TV music for the BBC, WDR, BAFTA, Channel4 and the UNHCR. “The Fatherless”, directed by Jette Steckel, is her first production at the Münchner Kammerspiele.
