Robin Metzer

Born in 1993, Robin Metzer initially worked as an assistant at the FFT Düsseldorf, the Studiobühne Köln, and the Berliner Ensemble. He subsequently studied stage design at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK Berlin) under Janina Audick and Hartmut Meyer. During his studies, he created his first set designs for the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz and the Schauspielhaus Hamburg. He also received scholarships from the Heidelberger Stückemarkt, the Karl Hofer Gesellschaft (UdK Berlin), and the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes). Since 2018, he has worked as a freelance set and costume designer for venues including the Volkstheater Wien, Theater Basel, Münchner Kammerspiele, Schauspiel Hannover, Thalia Theater Hamburg, and Schauspielhaus Graz. He collaborates regularly with Manuela Infante, Max Linz, Milena Michalek, Lorenz Nolting, and Rebekka David. In 2022, he designed the set for the feature film "L'ÉTAT ET MOI", which premiered at the Berlinale. His production of "Der Idiot" was invited to the Radikal jung festival. That same year, he designed the set and costumes for the co-production "Sirenen" between Theater Basel and Teatro GAM in Santiago de Chile. Following "Sauhund", "Eis" marks his second production at the Münchner Kammerspiele.
