Shattered dreams, failed existences, melancholy and waiting and unrequited love, non-commitment, Platonov. The Day After: Seven teenagers and young adults search in Chekhov’s play for what can be told with it today. They question the frustrated, unimaginative adult world and outdated role models, they question their own longings, dreams and expectations of the future and fight lustily against stagnation and prescribed ageing.
