Lion Bischof

Lion Bischof studied documentary film directing at the University of Television and Film in Munich and received a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation. He directed the films STATION: PATHOLOGY and HINTERWELTEN and TARA, which was shown at the 2016 Berlinale, as part of the Motelfilm directing collective. In 2018, his documentary GERMANIA (director & producer) premiered at the Max Ophüls Festival and won an award. It was shown in cinemas in 2019. He is also active as a video artist and has worked on theater productions with Falk Richter, Jan-Christoph Gockel, Kamlilė Gudmonaitė and Sapir Heller at the Münchner Kammerspiele, the Schaubühne Berlin, the Schauspiel Frankfurt and the Théâtre National de Strasbourg, among others. Falk Richter’s production “The Silence” with video works by Lion Bischof was invited to the Theatertreffen 2024 in Berlin and the Mülheimer Theatertage. In the 2023/24 season, he will accompany the productions “Xáta - Zuhause” and “Asche”.
