Zeynep Bozbay

Zeynep Bozbay was born in 1992 in Berlin. She grew up in the German capital and studied Drama at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, completing her degree in 2016. Shortly afterwards, she made her first appearance at the Münchner Kammerspiele in the world première of Elfriede Jelinek’s Wut (Anger – directed by Nicolas Stemann) and was nominated as Young Actor of the Year by Theater heute. Before beginning her studies, she acted at Deutsches Theater Berlin and at P14, the youth theatre at the Volksbühne Berlin. From 2016 to 2017 she was part of the ensemble at the Landestheater Niederösterreich where she worked with the likes of Milena Michalek and the YZMA collective, with whom she retains artistic ties. In 2017, Matthias Lilienthal scouted her as a permanent member of the ensemble at the Münchner Kammerspiele. Since then, Zeynep has worked with directors such as Yael Ronen, Kevin Barz, Alexander Giesche and Stefan Pucher. As well as theatrical engagements, she has also appeared in various film and television productions.
