Julia Gräfner

Julia Gräfner was born in 1989 in Schwerin. After completing her drama studies at Bern University of the Arts in 2012, she worked as a freelance actor until 2015. At the same time, she completed her Master’s degree in Scenic Arts Practice also at Bern University of the Arts. Her career path took her to theatres such as Konzert Theater Bern, Luzerner Theater, Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar, Sophiensaele Berlin and Ballhaus Ost. From 2015 until 2020, Julia was a permanent member of the ensemble at Schauspielhaus Graz where she worked with the likes of Cora Frost, Claudia Bauer, Clara Weyde, Jan-Christoph Gockel, Stephan Rottkamp as well as the independent Graz theatre collective Die Rabtaldirndln. In 2019, at the Ronacher theatre in Vienna, she was awarded the Nestroy Prize in the category Best Young Actor (female) for her role as Caliban in Der Sturm (The Storm). Julia Gräfner has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Münchner Kammerspiele since 2020.
