André Benndorff

André Benndorff was born in 1973 in Düsseldorf and abandoned his degree in Communication Sciences to study drama at the University of Music and Drama Saar where he was enrolled from 1997 until graduating in 2001. He worked at the Stadttheater Bern from 2001 until 2008. During this period, in his endeavours to find other narratives, material and production arrangements, he became a founding member of the Swiss-German fringe theatre consortium. From 2008 until 2017, André was a permanent cast member at Theater Freiburg. This stint was followed by appearances at Schauspielhaus Bochum and Theater Neumarkt as well as a planned sabbatical, which unfortunately he more or less spent in hospital. In 2019, André appeared at Theater Obenhausen before joining the Münchner Kammerspiele as a permanent ensemble member in 2020.

“AmA ohne Maske”

The imagined portrait of an actor / actress of herself: With which scene could it begin? What are groundbreaking career and biographical moments, and what do they say about the dreams and goals of a newly forming ensemble? In the podcast “AmA ohne Maske” the actors and actresses of the Münchner Kammerspiele talk about themselves: the people who will define the theater in the coming years.
