Rania Mleihi

Rania Mleihi was born and grew up in Damascus, Syria where she studied Arabic Literature and Performing Arts. She worked at the Damascus National Theatre as a director and a dramaturge, and in 2008 she founded a Damascus-based theatre ensemble that took part in various international theatre festivals including the Edinburgh Festival. In 2009, Rania was invited to take part in the Berliner Theatertreffen as a Fellow of the International Forum. She has lived in Germany since 2015 and worked as a dramaturge at the Münchner Kammerspiele, at Schauspiel Hannover and Theater an der Ruhr. She has been a member of the Lower Saxony Theatre Advisory Council since 2019 and as of the 2020/2021 season, she is a Dramaturge on the Artistic Directional Team at the Münchner Kammerspiele.
