Melisa Kaya

Melisa Kaya was born and grew up in Turkey. In 2003, she began studying for a degree in mathematics in Freiburg im Breisgau. During her studies she worked as a private lecturer and a support teacher on programmes including those run by Stiftung Mercator. In 2012, she appeared in the production of Bärensee (Bear Lake) by Teresa Rotemberg and discovered her passion for the theatre. From 2014 to 2017 she trained as an Event Manager at Theater Freiburg. After working in the Artistic Directional Office at Theater Freiburg for six months, she then took on the position of Directional Adviser at the Maxim Gorki theatre in Berlin where she worked from 2017 to 2020. Since April 2020, Melisa has been the Artistic Adviser to the Director at the Münchner Kammerspiele.
